Still Alive
2024 - ongoing

Dual-Site Installation, Site specific, Interactive installation
Featuring dot stickers
Still Alive reconstructs the image of an apple tree planted by the artist in her hometown, using a pixelated field of black dot stickers installed on a wall at 421 Arts Campus in Abu Dhabi. This act of translation—across geographies, media, and temporalities—becomes a quiet gesture of replanting.

Viewers are invited to place red dots onto the wall, echoing both the “sold” stickers of the art market and the symbolic act of planting apples anew. Over time, these interventions collectively reshape the tree, transforming a static image into a site of shared authorship, ritual, and accumulation.

As a site-specific and evolving project, each iteration of Still Alive mimics the current shape of the living tree, turning it into a family-commissioned gesture of ongoing growth—rooted in memory, yet open to communal reanimation.
