Figure Out! is my attempt, as an artist, to explore and understand the dynamics of the art market. The project consists of two interconnected components: Figure is a wall-hanging artwork that mirrors and disrupts the power dynamics of the real-world art market, offering participants a chance to engage with art as investment. It features 73 varieties of apples, each presented in portrait form across five editions. Each edition is priced higher than the previous one. When a subsequent edition is sold out, the owner of the prior edition faces a choice: either receive the amount paid by the next collector and return the print to the artist for destruction or keep the artwork. Figure creates a real-life experimental game space, inviting participants to explore how an artwork exists and fluctuates within a commercial context.

Out! – A Monopoly-inspired game that mirrors the mechanics of the art market, inviting players to actively participate and navigate its complexities.

Together, Figure Out! blurs the lines between art, investment, and play, offering a space where art’s value becomes both a personal and collective exploration.
