Bao (b. 2000, Shanxi) is an Abu Dhabi-based artist whose work spans diverse mediums, including print, books, and performance, with a focus on image-making. Her practice explores the dynamic interaction between game mechanics and storytelling through visual interpretation. Bao sees her audience not only as observers but as players, engaging them through introspection and manipulation of imagery to reflect on their connection to what is seen and depicted.

Bao holds a BA in Journalism from the Communication University of Zhejiang and is currently pursuing an MFA at New York University Abu Dhabi. Her work has been showcased in several exhibitions, including Pressure Point at Project Space, New York University Abu Dhabi; Fragile at the Cang Art Museum in Hangzhou, where her work was collected in 2022; and the 4th IDBA Exhibition at Icicle Space, Shanghai, where she received the Justice Choice Award in 2023. Additionally, her artist books have been exhibited at international book fairs in Beijing, New York, Taipei, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Ningbo, and more.
