Burning book is a book intended to being burned.
In Chinese funeral culture, flames are necessary for the transformation of matter from birth to death. From golden bars, paper money, and clothes to luxury goods, mansions, and digital components, the collective expectation of a priviledged life have not changed, but the goods have envolved with the times. As a creator, when I was thinking of products that I wanted to bring from the living world to the world after death, I was surprised to find that art had never been on this list, as a response, I created this Burning book, aimed to transform them to my afterlife world.
By overlapping the flower photos I shoot based on the reasearch about Van gogh’s floral painting, I created 10 photos to resonate with the time.
